User Test
Environment
Office environment: A private office, no person walking around the user.
Cafeteria environment: A public cafeteria, people walk around the user or move chairs time to time.
Participants utilize a iPhone 11 Pro Max to type secret numbers.
Experiment Procedure
PIN inference experiment
Step 1: Each participant configures a 6-digit PIN.
Step 2: The participant memorizes/practices the PIN.
Step 3: After the configuration, the user types the PIN while the attacker launches WINK.
Step 4: For each environment, perform 100 attempts using different PINs.
SSN inference experiment
Step 1: Each participant selects a state, a corresponding 3-digit area code.
Step 2: A valid 9-digit SSN is generated for the user.
Step 3: The participant memorizes/practices the SSN.
Step 4: The user types the SSN while the attacker launches WINK.
Step 5: For each environment, perform 100 attempts using different SSNs.
Performance metric
Top-$k$ accuracy $\alpha$: The probability that the top $k$ guesses from the $N$ candidates return the candidates contain the typed number.
$\alpha=\frac{\binom{1}{1}\cdot\binom{(N-1)}{(k-1)}}{\binom{N}{k}}=\frac{k}{N}$, where $\alpha = 1$ when $k > N$
